In Arizona this summer we tested several generations of 12 gauge less lethal beanbag munitions to evaluate possible degradation of velocity or performance of older rounds.
We measured velocities of rounds manufactured in 2006, 2012, 2017, 2020, and 2022 using several modalities including the Garmin Xero and the Labrador LX. L. Haag generously contributed doppler radar data that not only validated our instruments, but also provided velocities of the projectile at 100 feet downrange which assists us in reconstructing shooting incidents.
